(Feb 10th 2011) New Energy Drives Demand for High-performance NdFeB |
Currently Japanese enterprises own the most mature technology on hybrid vehicles, while the rest of the world's car manufacturers are catching up and industrial capacity has been greatly enhanced. A hybrid vehicle equipped with 60kw electric motor, 2-3kg NdFeB permanent magnetic materials demanded, while take capacity 1 Million vehicles into calculated, 2000--3000 tons of direct incremental demand in NdFeB permanent magnet materials. If the new energy minibuses equipped with 90kw electric motor, each motor needs more than 5 kilograms NdFeB permanent magnet materials, and we believe that the new energy bus and other public transports will be greatly supported by government in the period 2010-2013,. We are optimistic about the extension efforts of NdFeB permanent magnet materials in new energy vehicles in the future.
We believe that Europe, America and China vehicle suppliers accelerate the progress of the mass production, play an important role in promoting the whole market and accelerating market share of new energy vehicles, meanwhile speeding up the incremental driving demand for high performance NdFeB. We believe that HEV owns 17% market share in vehicle market, probably before year 2020, 3.5 tons to the current global output of 70 million to the following terms, accounting for 17% of the HEV, high performance NdFeB directly stimulating incremental demand of more than 3.5 million tons. If take new energy buses, trucks, etc into consideration, it will reach at least 4 million tons of demand, which will be the largest demand terminal for NdFeB in the future. To view the current development level of electric vehicles, the motor is not the obstacle, the most important factor affecting electric car is the breakthrough of lithium battery technology.
