Rare earth magnets

Rare earth magnets are the strongest type of all permanent magnets available today in the world, made from alloys of rare earth elements like Neodymium(Nd), Samarium(Sm), Dysprosium(Dy) and Cobalt (Co) etc. Typically there are Neodymium & NdFeB Magnets, Samarium-Cobalt Magnets and AlNiCo Magnets. Rare earth magnets, especially sintered NdFeB magnets are brittle and easy to corrosion, so they are usually plated or coated to protect them from breaking and oxidation corrosion.

With excellent magnetic properties and stablity, rare earth permanent magnets are widely used in following fields like automobile, telecommunications, data processing, consumer electronics, instruments, space flight and aviation, industrial applications such as motors, robotics and magnetic separators.
